Job Opportunity:

422 Community Engagement Manager 

 

Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Community Engagement Manager to enhance the visibility and impact of the 422 Community Hub. This role will drive community engagement, increase room bookings, and deepen our impact through a new engagement strategy. You will work closely with local groups, organisations, and individuals to promote the Hub’s services, support volunteers, room hire, and the monitoring and evaluation of our services. 

Accountable to: Compassion Manager and Business & Operations Manager 

Responsible for: Building local and city-wide awareness of the 422 Community Hub, increasing engagement and bookings with local community groups and individuals with activities in 422 and hire spaces

Term: 30 – 37.5 hours a week. Initial 12 month fixed-term contract with capacity to extend. Subject to 6 months probationary period. Part time will be considered. 

Pay: £26,300

Location: 422 Community Hub, Manchester, M12 4EX 

Start Date: Negotiable

This role is responsible for the following 


Engagement and awareness: 

  • Develop and implement strategies to boost community engagement, diversify activities, and increase room bookings
  • Promote 422’s services and build relationships to enhance visibility, support, and volunteer opportunities within the community

Promoting Room Hire

  • Promote 422 as an ideal venue for local events to boost room hire income and support community services
  • Facilitate access to the space through fundraising and partnerships, and actively market the Hub for diverse activities and events

Neighbourhood Engagement, Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Lead neighbourhood engagement to gather feedback and showcase successes
  • Monitor and evaluate program impact, use expert support for reporting systems, and create data-driven reports to highlight the Hub’s value and achievements

Programme Development 

  • Collaborate with the Compassion Manager to support, develop and enhance 422 programs, ensuring they address community needs and uphold safety and dignity 
  • Implement safeguarding and health policies, and support the recruitment and training of volunteers
  • Explore new programme opportunities such as with Grace Advocacy and other community partnerships

General Duties 

  • Collaborate with management to ensure detailed and values-driven planning for 422, while embodying its mission to support the community
  • Attend meetings, provide staff support, handle keyholder responsibilities, and oversee the café’s hygiene standards as needed
