422 Community Art Gallery opened in March 2024 as part of celebrations for International Women’s Day. The frames were supplied by The Mirror and Picture Factory in Stockport and the project was funded by Manchester City Council.
We hope that 422 Community Art Gallery will become a place that members of our community can share their creative thoughts and ideas. The first exhibition, “I AM”, was an opportunity to explore who women are in our community. Women of Ardwick and Longsight were asked to contribute to these large-scale collaged works with statements about who they are and how they want to be seen.
